1) At the time, it seemed like an insane hit, played so much and for so long, yet in the annual singles chart of 1984, I see it peaked at a rather modest #48 (between Talk Talk and Rockfeller);
2) Back then, I didn’t realize it was a duet; I'm discovering that now after 40 years;
3) At the time, I never saw who was singing it; I'm only finding out now about the theatrical staging;
4) At the time, it seemed like a piece with a certain epic quality; now it feels like half a melodramatic nonsense.
