The three young lads settle in at Voices of Wonder, a 'home' label towards which they will later have words full of esteem and affection ("those bastards at VoW"), and they come out with this crude, rough, and vulgar Lobotomizer. Out of tune and appropriately dirty, acidic and anything but reassuring, the long debut of Our Boys is permeated by a sinister unease expressed through a 'frontal' approach, extremely aggressive throughout almost the entire record, with the exception of the two instances I've included here. A prologue to an explosion of bulimic creativity that, as far as I'm concerned, has few equals.
