I said it, we will recover some of those numerous crazy characters from that abundant five years that goes from the late fifties to the mid sixties… that limbo between the birth of rock and roll and the connection with garage and similar styles.
So many characters with a capital P. David Edward Sutch (Screamin in honor of that other crazy one) would need a whole book… unfortunately, his shows were so hyper and out of the rules that they were rarely recorded, barely any material.
This is discussed in the biography of Ritchie Blackmore which I "reviewed" here many years ago. It was Blackmore who played with him and with many other sadly forgotten artists. So many names, so many Nobles who paved the way for the near future.
Keep in mind that until 1970 he didn't release a single album, then thanks to help from people like Page, Beck, Bonham, Redding, Hopkins he made a couple that were quite good… but by then it was all over…
