What does it take?

I understand what he's doing, and how he's doing it: but playing "Turnaround" is deadly! Because - as the title wickedly suggests - this apparent "easy piece" (I can’t help but think, not by chance, of the immense Jack Nicholson in 'Five Easy Pieces') is all about fooling around.
But not like that, haphazardly. Because you need an ear and the pack immersed in the bucket! Ugh.
