"Salamander" was the only track from "Too Old To Rock'n Roll" that could be likened to the previous album "Minstrel in the Gallery."
The latter had been recorded in '75 with Jeffrey Hammond for the last time on bass with "Jethro Tull."
He had held his last concert with them in November in the States, and by December '75, "Jethro Tull" had the new bassist John Glascock working on the recordings of the upcoming album, which was very different from all the others.
Further recordings took place in January '76, and the new record took shape, not particularly loved by fans.
This "Salamander" definitely stands out, as in this music video the band plays in a circle and acoustically, with Barrie Barlow only on tambourine and John Glascock present but never caught on camera.
The camera is quite attracted to the charming dancer who makes the song more enticing.
The work of the acoustic guitars is also beautiful and gnente...
