I loved you for your beauty
but that doesn’t make me feel foolish:
you were there for your beauty too
and I loved you for your body
there’s a voice that sounds like God
and it declares, declares, declares that your body is really you
And I loved you when our love was blessed
And I love you now that nothing is left
but sadness and a sense of time expired
and I feel your absence since this place was destroyed
and I don’t care what happened after
it seems like freedom but tastes like death
I guess it’s a middle ground
