It’s clear that today I really have time to waste. I swear I’ve watched and rewatched this video looking for two things. The first is Jeff Beck’s elephant bell-bottoms which - it is said - Ronno arbiter elegantiarum deemed excessive even for the standards of Ziggy & Co. And they distracted him. The second are the disgusting dirty white high-heeled shoes also belonging to the aforementioned JB (Bowie would have told him: “Look, man, I understand about the shoes, ‘cos I didn’t like what I was wearing either). The fact remains that from the video of the concert on July 3, 1973 at the Odeon Hammersmith, Jeff Beck was removed at his request due to wardrobe problems. What a shame... Don’t do like me, listen. Here’s a little piece! David Bowie | feat. Jeff Beck | The Jean Genie-Love Me Do Excerpt | Hammersmith Odeon | 3 July 1973
