With his occasionally tribal style, less "minimal" than Wyatt's, but closer to the Nucleus school (kind of an Alan White of Yes compared to Bill Bruford) he brought that different nuance, yet always psych jazz, to the Softs of the "second phase" (more akin to a certain late 70s fusion than to Wyatt's sound).
