In a remarkable period of "welcome back wanks" - I admit I wasn't into it anymore - I listened to, (re)discovered garage bands with soul and blood featuring, as per usual, the most diverse influences from beat to punk, from psychedelia to R&B - from power pop to folk, rockabilly to mod, even soul and even hard rock. In short, the essence of true rock'n'roll beasts screaming wildly "fuck your virtuoso and insanely fast scales and your f*cking 4-octave vocal range." From 1990 onwards, with occasional returns of old fossils, savansadir.
Cass and Henry is magnificent. Garage soaked in Doors, Gun Club, Cult, QuickSilver M.S. A fabulous first album, a good second, a third one so-so... then done, as should often happen.
