In the summer of '62, the international magazine "Vogue" commissioned the great photographer to create a report on Sardinia, where he would spend about twenty days.
The journey to the island was facilitated by his deep friendship with the Oranese artist Costantino Nivola.
With the two inseparable Leicas always at his side, he discreetly captured the people, preferring places of tradition.
A long journey that took him to Cagliari, crossing some areas of central Sardinia still socially intact: Orosei, Cala Gonone, Dorgali, Oliena, Orgosolo during the Assumption festival, Mamoiada, Nuoro, Orani (where he was a guest of Costantino Nivola as mentioned above), Desulo during the Madonna della Neve festival, San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes. #chiaroscuro "𝘚𝘢𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦", 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢 G𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘦 - Dorgali (NU), summer 1962
