'Tales From Monographic Oceans': a spontaneous journey through a stretch of sea, cutting across the isthmuses of various discographies (XTC B-sides, alternatives and more 55, 13)
'the B-side is important, even in music...': in other words, it's too easy, with people like this, to glide through the official discography at 33 and 1/3. But here we want evidence 'e contrariis', we’re not looking for easy stuff.
Because, with these somewhat left-field tracks that were left out or, at best, relegated to the back of singles, 12''s, and various EPs, ANYONE (and I mean ANYONE: think of your favorite pop-rock artist and they fit right in, for sure) could have built a career far more than brilliant. This is pop...even if intentionally left in the corner.
