'Tales From Monographic Oceans': a spontaneous journey in a stretch of sea, cutting through the isthmuses of some discographies (XTC B-sides, alternatives and more 55, 5)
'the B-side is important, even in music...': that is, it's too easy, with people like this, to sail through the official discography at 33 and 1/3. But here we want evidence 'e contrariis', we don't want easy bèl.
Since, with these pieces written a bit offbeat and left out or at best placed as the flipside of singles, 12'' records, and various EPs, ANYONE (and I mean ANYONE: think of your favorite pop-rock author and they surely fit in) could have built a career far more than brilliant. This is pop... even if deliberately left in the corner.
