James Thomas Ramey "Baby Huey" (1944-1970) An African American singer, lead vocalist of the group "Baby Sitters," known in the sixties as a successful live band in the realm of soul/r'n'b and funk, based in Chicago. He is often remembered for the undeniable influence that his band's live performances and also his solo album, especially on the lyrical side, had on the development of the roots of hip hop in suburban black culture. His considerable weight (he reached over 180 kg) had severe repercussions on his health, along with the fact that, quiet as it is kept, he became a heroin addict. Cause of death: Heart attack. He is buried at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Richmond, Indiana.
