In Camera - Fragments of Fear #ilove4ad [A sonic journey through the catalogs that have ignited my imagination] Another band that left a bright, fleeting glow in the ranks of 4AD. With a distinctly dark sound, heavily inspired by P.I.L. and Joy Division, In Camera opened for a Bauhaus live performance. They had all the components for a promising future: the unique vocal timbre of David Steiner, Pete Moore on bass, and Jeff Wilmott on drums maneuvering in unison with a dry, hypnotic rhythm, along with the abrasive guitar lines of Andrew Gray. In Camera ceased their activities after just two EPs and a single, barely over two years, shattering a promising future. Notable is their appearance in the BBC studios for the Peel Session, confirming the quality of their project and placing them in the niche of cult bands dimmed at the starting line. The guitarist Gray would lay the foundations for The Wolfgang Press the following year while the band is now just a name in the 4AD catalog.
