Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott (1946-1980). Singer, drummer, flautist, Australian bagpiper of British origin. Frontman of AC/DC from 1974 to 1980. Gifted with a high and raspy voice, ideal for a hard-rock band, with an eye on Robert Plant's unparalleled style. He played the "solo" on bagpipes in "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" as a tribute to his Scottish roots. He led a wild life among rivers of alcohol, any psychoactive substance, women, and fast motorcycles, sometimes all at once. Cause of death: Intoxication from excessive alcohol, probably in conjunction with a heroin overdose. He had long suffered from depression and used the two to escape it. He was found by a friend, dead, inside a Renault 5 where he had fallen asleep the night before. The friend let him sleep, and there he was found the next morning, lifeless. He is buried in Fremantle Cemetery, Western Australia.
