Regarding "Roman mosaics," I remember that during my first trip to Morocco in December 2007, I visited the archaeological site of "Volubilis," a city founded by the Romans about two millennia ago, but already inhabited since the Neolithic by Berber populations. Here are a couple of photos (not taken by me, who knows where mine ended up...) showing the ruins or the remains of two mosaics from Volubilis: When I visited the site, there was already a smell half a kilometer away, uh, of sulfur due to the sulfur springs, and there you can still find large basins and pools where the wealthy would indulge, immersed in warm water, eating, drinking wines, and doing who knows what with slaves, handmaidens, and the favorites of the moment. Ah, nothing, actually no, those were the good times for those who could afford it!
