Cowgirl in the Sand (2009 Remaster) How many people, twenty years later, have drawn inspired ideas from this guitar sound? From this way of playing (or rather, mistreating) the guitar? How many seeds did Uncle Nello plant before he could reap the fruits himself, together with his young, diverse students of every type and musical style (from Pearl Jam to Dinosaur Jr. to Sonic Youth) in the '90s? In this track, the sound of those guitars in their sharp digressions is so incredible that the sung parts disturb me; they might as well not be there.
