@[llawyer] Gesualdo - Guarini: Tirsi morir volea

Tirsi longed to die,
Gazing into the eyes of the one he adored;
When she, who burned for him no less,
Said to him: "Oh my dear,
Do not die yet,
For I wish to die with you."
Tirsi's desire was restrained,
For he had to finish his life then;
But he felt death in his inability to die.
And while he kept his gaze fixed
In those beautiful divine eyes
And drank in the sweet nectar of love,
The lovely Nymph, who already felt
The messengers of Love nearby,
Said with languid and trembling eyes:
"Die, my heart, for I die."
To which the Shepherd replied:
"And I, my life, die."
Thus perished the fortunate lovers
In a death so sweet and so welcome,
That even in dying they returned to life.

Another thing than the mogol! :-*
