The House | Official Trailer | Netflix
I had high hopes for this film being a lover of the "stop motion" technique. From a production standpoint, it’s hard to argue with Netflix backing it, and the high aesthetic quality is evident, but beyond that, the seriality has really offended an art form and animation as a whole. Three stories, three short films, three directors, a thousand references, all seemingly tied together by just one gimmick, resulting in a film that ultimately feels disjointed, leaving you at the end feeling like you've been smashed on the ground. Some images deserve a mention, but that’s about it. Goddamn Netflix.
