For Sigismund Schlomo Freud, fixation eluding reason behaves as if it were part of the unconscious system, like a repressed current, and this fixation is nothing more than the preservation of libido on objects or unconscious phases relating to the various psychosexual stages of development. These charges of conserved libido harm the individual, subsequently causing neurosis.
