Exactly thirty-six years ago, Ian Stewart "Stu" for friends, the 6th original member of the Rolling Stones, passed away from a heart attack in the waiting room of the clinic where he was supposed to be admitted. A founding member of the band where he played piano, he was excluded also for his physical appearance, as he didn't have the right look for the group, being considered awkward and quite ugly by the manager in agreement with the other members of the famous band that wanted to compete with the Beatles by appealing to part of the female audience...
Words from Keith Richards: “He could have told us: ‘You know what? Go fuck yourselves’... but he didn’t, and instead bought a van for the band’s transportation and agreed to stay with us in a sidelined role, as a backup pianist and tour manager... he told us ‘Okay, I’ll take you around.’
“It takes a big heart to do something like that – Richards continued on this subject – but Ian had one of the biggest hearts out there”...
Um, that heart which ultimately betrayed him for eternity... and that’s it.
