The Reluctant Rockstar, as he was defined, played as a sideman for Elton John, Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce, Tom Waits, Bryan Ferry, and dozens of others, and then became the mentor of Punk Rock, at thirty and beyond, sensing its innovative possibilities, he who had consumed rock, beat, and r'n'b for lunch and dinner.
His only personal success of note was that 'Motorbikin' from '76 that too few remember...
He even produced the demos for the Sex Pistols before McLaren took them on.
Here in a duet with Phil Manzanera during the Roxy Music tour of 2001.
