George Benson - Give Me The Night
Always conducted a regard to an unpopular opinion
In Italy, the album (which for a gem features "Love X Love", in my opinion, and "Love Dance") was heavily criticized and seen as a commercial banality. The worst Benson would give after, or rather, always maintaining dignity.
This album received 4.5 out of 5 stars in U.S. magazines and was indicated as a milestone, showcasing the backward mentality of various purists.
Benson had already released 10 spectacular jazz-soul albums; he needed to change genre to innovate.
The result, beyond labels, is impressive.
I criticize many commercial operations (see Phil Collins); this, for me, is genius, and Quincy Jones is a great.
