I would like to just recall the peak of his literary production with his collaboration on the lyrics of “Teorema” (Take a woman, treat her badly, make her wait for hours…) with that “handsome guy” Ferradini. It seems superfluous to recall the importance of the text, which is also remembered in the film “Chiedimi se sono felice” by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo during an unforgettable scene in the supermarket. One can’t help but wonder why such wisdom, still very valid and current today, has not been included in modern anthologies (is it still called that?).
Let’s not digress; I must remain focused on our heroes, I must convey the brilliance of their idea. Just think, taking a piece that tells the story of Christ and his earthly life and TRANSFORMING it. Yes, transforming it into a story about a woman of easy virtue, explicitly detailing the drama of the one excluded from such generosity.
It is unfortunate to say that censorship struck hard. In those terrible years, freedom was a word devoid of meaning, but our hero showed his wit by using a trick in the chorus where anyone can notice that “non te lo darà” must absolutely be understood in the feminine, cleverly tricking the ...
