About 39 years ago, Michela was born. I remember Sandra was proud of it, but after just 3 months, she left her at her mother's house and went back to chasing the needle. Back then, I was Anna's boyfriend (Sandra's sister) and often with the 2000 lire of the troublesome decade, I had to buy formula milk and diapers for Michela. Then one day, during a spring leave, I was told that social services had taken Michela away. Sandra then died young (AIDS), Anna is still alive but is still as foolish as she was when she was 15... Who knows where Michela is now, the one I considered almost like a daughter? Il Sorriso di Michela (Eugenio Bennato - dedicato a tutte le Donne del Sud) [Due Sicilie - Briganti]
