The contrast with the previous album couldn’t be sharper and more pronounced: unexpectedly, Moondog releases an album of catchy songs that conceal baroque-sounding piano melodies or subdued rhythms from an imagined folk: it seems that Hardin had to leave America to pull out of the hat his most American album.
