A roundup of the works that so far in this tormented 2021 I have considered among the best releases, or rather among the "My best releases listened to with care." In an order that means absolutely nothing, I start with Insides, a duo that is, for me, on its second release. A boy and a girl, I have no idea who writes the music but, being an electronic group, I suppose the writing is the classic "work in progress" (it's nice to assume just by listening to the music only to be proven wrong later). Melodies with the female voice and minimal electronics create a suspended world, rich in its essentiality. Their debut, I believe, on the refined 4AD intrigues me a lot, and at the first opportunity, I will spend some time on it. For the record, they have been labeled kraut, who knows why. (Germans) Anyway, " Ghost Music " I hope I’m not the only one appreciating them in these parts.
