5. Electrified Tabula Rasa
Just a year after Linea gotica, the Csi return from a journey to Mongolia with a handful of great songs. The sound becomes harder, much more rock compared to its predecessors. The beginning already sets the tone for the entire work, with the triplet formed by Unità di produzione, a true manifesto of surrender, Brace with a very particular musical structure, and the ultra-famous Forma e sostanza. And the rest of the album reaches even higher and more unique peaks. An example? The almost entirely instrumental Gobi, with choirs that bring back to mind that Latin soul that Battisti wanted to use in one of his albums. But also the powerful Vicini, the spiritual Ongii, and the cautious Bolormaa are fundamental pieces for this album. It all concludes with the thought-provoking Accade, the brief Matrilineare, and Mimporta na sega, a piece that seems light but isn't really so. In short, this TRE is yet another masterpiece signed by Csi, this time with more drive and greater attention to the "form" of the pieces.
