In 2007, Carella returns once again. Unexpectedly. Twelve years after the excellent Se non cantassi sarei nessuno, we find ourselves faced with Ahoh yé nanà. Perhaps Carella's most heterogeneous and pyrotechnic album, there are moments that remind us of the early Carella (Oggi non è domani stands out) but with a maturity that benefits his music. Many genres are experimented with in the album: acoustic funk (Basta il pane, Lavorare no), soul ballads (La spina), sugary pop mixed with the stylistic elements of the first three albums (Estrella misteriosa, Bagnino, Banalità), pseudo-reggae (La canzone su di me), and small rock flourishes (La vita è un'altra). Carella's inspiration and originality in the second part of his career have definitely waned, it must be said, and it's also normal at a certain point. But Ahoh yé nanà offers many tracks up to the standards of the first Carella, encouraging curiosity for a possible subsequent album. Which will not be released. Since Carella, after this album, will not publish anything else. There will be some news events and his sudden death in February 2017. And so he will depart, with Ahoh yé nanà closing the loop in an absurd and original way. As is customary for Carella.
