3. Sailors, Prophets, and Whales
One of the most ambitious works of the singer-songwriter turns out to be one of his peaks. A pseudo lyrical opera where events and adventures unfold on the sea, an adventure in constant motion. Literary quotes flood the songs, the Octopus of Love that recalls the pieces of Camera a sud appears, the scandal of the depths of Pryntil causes a stir, we meet Billy Budd, giant animals like the leviathan and the white whale hinder navigation. However, in the sea there are also creatures that are not necessarily hostile; there is The Madonna of Shells who protects sailors, there is the goddess Calypso, and at the end of the journey, there are The Sirens, without tails or feathers. In words, I believe this record is indescribable, so vast and varied it is. I can only say: listen to it with great patience, because otherwise, you will never understand this album.
