10th: THE CITY I WOULD LIKE
To all of you, I say that Ivan's debut certainly does not deserve to be so low in the rankings, nor does it deserve to be just above Graziani's less successful works. Ivan's first album is this concept about city life, with its shades and the characters waiting to be discovered; the entire album is imbued with these stories, filtering them through a folk that transitions from acoustic to orchestral but with some interesting deviations in between (L'ubriaco, between garage and rock and the boogie tail of A volte in primavera). Choosing a flagship track from the album is difficult since all the songs have their reasons for existing and being listened to, but it is mandatory to at least mention the rustic Il campo della fiera (which will be revisited in Ballata per 4 stagioni, making it less "raw") and the portrait of a woman in Luisa. The city I would like is an album that exudes an innocence within the concept that will be hard to find in Ivan's journey, combined with compositions that are still immature.
The gem: Luisa (Situazione)
