HOW TO RUIN A CAREER, ANGLOPHONE SECTION, vol. 3: Queen
(An exception to the usual review of Italian talents, groups or soloists. This time we're going Anglo-speaking, after all, shall we say it or not that not only in the Boot are musical careers being completed in an unworthy and undignified manner that once paved the way for all?)
Friends, welcome to the ninth block of a delightful little column that, I warn you, should be taken in minimal doses and on an empty stomach. Inspired by excellent DeBaser enthusiasts with a hobby of occasionally sticking their fingers down their throats, here I am to propose a few chosen listens regarding the disgusting side of the production of certain Anglo-speaking groups or solo artists who have truly made their mark in the History of Music, once offering quality music with the potential for international appeal, only to end up in the muck of a very low-tier discography rendering them, for the most part, unrecognizable to the ears of their former fans.
Let the foul trumpets sound, onward...
Today we highlight the shit phases of another group that, unlike others, embraced a more pop and shamelessly commercial vein before many other contemporary bands did the same, demonstrating, if nothing else, a certain commercial instinct, shall we say. The fact that Mercury’s exceptional voice managed to lift often less than mediocre tracks from the mire is a discussion we've already had, and we risk boring ourselves by repeating it.
