If I were to be killed and told to keep only two albums, I would keep the first and the last. Just 4 years, and looking at the faces, they seemed like decades. So much lived, an incredible intensity. Via Rothchild, Botnik makes rehearsals a joy, something not seen since the first. The tour doesn’t hold up, Jim collapses at the second date and it’s decided to stop... but the sound is a fairy tale and reflects the studio atmosphere. After all, it had been two years since Morrison... “I'm just an old blues man”...
