Today marks the 30th anniversary of GOLD MOTHER, another album that significantly influenced my musical upbringing. I still have it on cassette, the original one, bought back in middle school. I must say that unlike other albums from the same year or just before, like The Stone Roses or Pill n Trills by the Happy Mondays, this one shows some signs of the era it was released in. Moreover, for me, it could easily be from at least 5 years earlier because the overall sound is more 80s than early 90s. The song is my favorite from the album and one of my favorites by the band, here in the acoustic version. Enjoy it. And of course, once again, Manchester rules. Why bother telling you?
