They came out in the middle of punk and disco turmoil with a rather mediocre, somewhat outdated album. But this track contained a multitude of elements within it. You find them for yourselves; every time I ask a friend what they think, I get the most varied responses: I hear prog, kraut, electro, proto-disco-electronic, a very sad singer-songwriter vibe, and so on.
Le Orme took the lukewarm reception of their record poorly and responded two years later with radical choices, such as returning to acoustic instruments and classical-style scores. Only to later, out of despair, embrace a faded and anonymous new wave.
