10 Stories of Women. (9) Marika Hackman Marika Hackman - hand solo
For @[Taddi]
In truth, this penultimate mention, more than to tell a story, which doesn't exist (oh dear, if you want, it can be said that our Marika is on her third album, is the daughter of an English woman and a Finn, and that her partner is Amber Rain, who records under the moniker "The Japanese House") is an opportunity to show you 5 videos that I think are beautiful examples of "female" voices.
This first one, "Hand Solo" (the title will become clear from watching it), to me - as a man - seems like one of the most intelligent, witty, and at the same time "hard" videos I've seen in a long time.
Of course, I'm speaking as a man, so I might be wrong; I thus await for some sweet lady (the same Taddi, or @[TataOgg] or whoever wants to) to tell me if, as usual, I'm mistaken and ridicule me. I also hope that Taddi receives the dedication with her usual intelligence and irony and doesn’t find it too "direct".
Before the finale (which I hope will be a "bang") tomorrow, I suggest – to anyone who feels like stopping by – another 10 "female" albums, 10 stories that should be told, 10 voices that should be listened to, and which, again, are little known, 10 small masterpieces:
Brigitte Fontaine - Comme à la radio; Millo Castro Zaldarriaga - (whatever you find of hers or from Anacaona); Linda Hoyle - Pieces of Me; Totò la Momposina Y sus Tambores - La Candela Viva; Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Press Color; Mandy More - But That Is Me; White Noise (Delia Derbyshire) - An Electric Storm; New Bloods - Deadly Nightshade!; X-Ray Spex - Oh Bondage! Up Yours! (the story of Poly Styrene MUST be told).
Maybe if some guy, one of those all hair except on the tongue (like @[IlConte], @lao tzè or others) could let me know what he thinks of this video, I would like that.
Here below will follow the other 4 videos.
