OSCILLATORS AND SYNTHESIZERS, LADIES AND PIONEERS...
Alien Bog (1967)
Pauline Oliveros (1932-2016). A former member of the San Francisco Tape Music Center, she directed the Mill Center, fundamental for the development of theories and practices in electronic music and its digital processing. She organized hundreds of workshops in listening and performance disciplines ("Deep Listening" and "Sonic Awareness"), practicing a mix of electronic and electroacoustic music performances, meditation, and concentration on sounds and tones. She was an openly lesbian activist for LGBT rights, as well as a black belt in karate. Is that enough?
