The Doors - Runnin Blue [HQ] TSP50... go, go... “Poor Otis Dead and Gone” says/sings Jim at the beginning. A tribute, a heartfelt homage from Morrison to Otis Redding... because it's not necessarily required to know someone physically in order to admire them. And if strange and unique have always rhymed with Doors, here’s an incredible track featuring a mix of rock and soul, with country-bluegrass choruses and an “absurd” jazzy bridge. “To understand how strange the situation was, just know that we brought in a mandolin player and a violinist all the way from North Carolina, Jesse McReynolds and Jimmy Buchanan, to play a solo on one song,” John Densmore 1972... see, exactly. Read it, Doors fans, also John’s book; sincere, straightforward... a vent, a relief, his “embrace” to Jim many years later...
