The first track of the debut is a true statement of intent, the perfect piece for the late sixties and the early seventies. The song is memorable in its “simplicity”: a sharp riff and a fiery solo, a seductive bass line, Plant with a predominantly beat-driven vocal style, and a Bonham already insane, so quick-footed that everyone believed he was using a double pedal... this is how the Zeppelin presented themselves to their audience.
