These songs opened my heart to a singer-songwriter style that, in my ignorance, I imagine as “typed on a typewriter in a smoky room with a glass filled to two fingers,” I'm romantic. But I was enchanted by bittersweet melodies that I somehow found in the early works of Heafner (or whatever they’re called) or in the musings of their writer sitting observing the patrons of a bar. But these are conjectures from an ignorant self-taught person to be taken with a grain of salt. Anyway, pages that have somehow helped shape my musical vision.
