So much has been said about ABBA: from the prejudices, to the "Scandinavian Beatles," to the Rich and Poor of Stockholm, passing through the Spectorian wall of sound of "Waterloo." Arrival is the album from the quartet of the land of Ikea that contains chart-topping hits like "Dancing Queen," "Money Money Money," and "Knowing Me Knowing You." But what I love about this album is the last track, made of keyboards and choirs. Scandinavian atmospheres that evoke inner peace. Some hear paradise, some the song they would want for their funeral, and some – like me – appreciate that folkloric aesthetic of Northern Europe, much loved by Sigur Ros. The piece was adapted by Mike Oldfield, who replaced the choirs with his electric guitar. ABBA : Arrival (1976) HQ
