The Danse Society - "Belief" 1983 A fundamental band for gothic rock and the dark scene. Even though the voice is always hypnotic and full of pathos, Danse do not dive into the frenzied sketches of the Virgin Prunes, they do not wink at the synths like "Movement" by New Order, nor do they even pull off a blatant copy of Bauhaus and Christian Death. Alongside UK Decay, another fundamental band for this scene, they execute a truly interesting dark post-punk vision that deserves to be rediscovered.
