On Sunday, the Oscars are happening and I have hardly seen anything. The nomination for The Post (the only one I've seen) for Best Picture seems exaggerated to me, and even Meryl Streep in the running for Best Actress this time feels like a choice made out of obligation. Moving on to the soundtracks, there's Hans Zimmer, who I like to remember for playing synthesizers in "La vita è adesso" by Baglioni, but above all, Jonny Greenwood, the dissociated member of Radiohead (not that the others were masterpieces of space-time alignment) is also up for the statuette, having been doing amazing things over the years; if only for bringing to a pop festival, in front of kids in t-shirts with slogans, none other than Penderecki with a live performance of Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima.
