Savage Republic - Ceremonial "Tragic Figures" is a hellish orgy of rage, directed against everyone and everything (the progenitor of that primitive animalistic language is certainly the opener "When All Else Fails"). After that unhealthy clash, we land in various Pink Floydian copy-pastes, like in "Trudge", until we conclude the career with the impetuous "Customs", which will have pleased both Sonic Youth and Albini. But, to my watchful ears, "Ceremonial" is the peak. One of the most "kool" instrumental albums. The title track and "Walking Backwards" (the latter shared some time ago by imasoulman with many great praises) have been smiling at us since 1985.
