Reading the passionate review by IlConte, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill when he talks about the "Summer of Love" experienced in that poorer and devastated Africa by Jim Morrison's two friends, Frank and Kathy. Well, at the Monterey Pop Festival, I believe the peak of the hippie movement was celebrated during those times with three days of music and everything that circulated among the "free" souls in America. One of the few, if not the only African artist, was the young Hugh Ramopolo Masekela (musician, singer, and trumpeter), who fled the apartheid regime in South Africa and was forced to emigrate to London.
