10 Magnificent Losers. 10 Stories That Should Be Told. 4) Tommy Hall 13th Floor Elevators "You Can't Hurt Me Anymore" MAJOR JUG
First they broke Roky - he had talent, he was the most fragile - then, who knows. But the end of Shuterland was even more tragic. So, when Roky fled to Mars, he and Clementine understood it was over. Tommy never played again. But he was a genius: without him (now I'm exaggerating, I know) the 13th Floor Elevators would have been just a great (more than great) garage band, celebrated in some Nuggets, idolized by collectors. I know, I know I'm exaggerating: the 13th were the magical fruit of the alchemy between him and Erikson. But I am a terminal fan of this man: how can you not love someone who made the history of 20th-century Music playing inside a bottle (apparently full of Hashish)? But everyone only mentions Roky, his descent into the abyss, stories of electroshock and psychiatric drugs. But that's Tragedy; here we talk about Losers.
Roky fled to Mars, while he was left to stay on Earth.
