The Doors "The W.A.S.P. Radio Texas" "Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (58) I love this track, its obsessive rhythm and Morrison's speech. Jim always said that he could tell right away, when he was writing something, whether it was lyrics for a song or a poem. "The Wasp," however, remains a song-poem. A heartfelt reference to his memory of all those border radio stations he used to listen to while the family moved following his father’s admiral destinations. As a child, he was immediately enchanted by those primordial sounds: Blues, R&B, Rock'n'Roll. In '68, during concerts, it was used as an opening for a piece. More than a poem, a story. Beautiful.
