It's a pretty big gamble; I've only seen 4 episodes out of 22, and it could turn out to be a huge letdown. Anyway: Japanese (an animated series that I usually don't particularly love), 22 episodes, dark, odd, sick. I didn't understand a damn thing because they made me watch it English dub. And maybe also because you really can't understand a damn thing, seriously. I've been hoping the protagonist (I think he's the protagonist) would die for three episodes. For him, because... whoever wrote the story was really cruel (don't worry, I didn't get hit in the head and I'm not proposing yet another "Anna with the red hair and David Copperfield exiled from the Caritas canteen": I'm talking about Japan, blood, and katanas.
