The Doors Land Ho!
"Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (45)
The sea often recurs in the lyrics of James Douglas; after all, the first "poetry in music" was written on that rooftop from which what he admired most was the ocean before him (unlike other interpretations, I think being the son of an admiral has nothing to do with it). Jim and Robby set the piece to resemble a classic sea shanty, "Land Ho," indeed the song sung while the anchor was being raised. A song straight out of a classic American dockside tavern with that country/storyteller vibe: the part I enjoy is the rhythm change from 1:30 to 2:20, simply marvelous.
