The Doors - Runnin' Blue (Studio)
"Jim Morrison & The Doors on the road" (37)
A heartfelt tribute to Otis Redding, who passed away not long ago. A quirky and bizarre track. The beginning, just voice, is beautiful: "Pour Otis dead and bone." The song starts off energetic but then breaks into fairly goofy choruses with a country and/or bluegrass flavor, sung by Krieger himself with a not-so-great nasal voice. A remembrance of the great Otis, who at Monterey blew everyone away (even with a fabulous version of "Satisfaction") even more than the legendary Hendrix, just back from London.

The album certainly represents the lowest point in the discography of the Lizard King and his associates. JimMorrison
