The Doors - Runnin' Blue (Studio) "Jim Morrison & The Doors on the road" (37) A heartfelt tribute to Otis Redding, who passed away not long ago. A quirky and bizarre track. The beginning, just voice, is beautiful: "Pour Otis dead and bone." The song starts off energetic but then breaks into fairly goofy choruses with a country and/or bluegrass flavor, sung by Krieger himself with a not-so-great nasal voice. A remembrance of the great Otis, who at Monterey blew everyone away (even with a fabulous version of "Satisfaction") even more than the legendary Hendrix, just back from London.
